Stand Against Hinduphobia & Ethnic Cleansing in Bangladesh

We, members of the Hindu Diaspora of Berlin, are organising a public meeting to express our deep solidarity with the victims of the latest spate of horrific incidents of rape, violence, arson and looting against Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh. We also plan to hand over a memorandum to officials at the Bangladeshi Embassy in Berlin.

Please join us there. We simply want to demonstrate our support and empathy for the victims and bring to public attention, within Germany, the plight of Bangladeshi Hindus and other minorities.

We‘re solely interested in highlighting their suffering and don’t want to take sides in Bangladesh‘s current political crisis; hence we want no political sloganeering at this gathering.

All who want to express their solidarity can join us with hand written placards, banners or candles.

We've obtained necessary permission from the Police authorities of Berlin.

Background: As many of you’re aware, there’ve been — in the past few weeks — continuous and often coordinated attacks on the lives, honour, liberty and property of the Hindu and other minorities (Buddhists, Christians et al.) in Bangladesh. Political turmoil in that country, which India helped to free from a genocidal Pakistani military dictatorship in 1971, seems to always trigger rampant and barbaric violence against Hindus; this has resulted in the percentage (of the general population) of Hindus there coming down, from ca. 22% in 1947 to 7.01% today!
